Season of Basilisk ( God's Word overrides when used in authority)

Subject: The Season of the Basilisk Neville Johnson Interesting ... the solution is to take dominion by repent for the 4 sins on the land breaking the 4 judgements and loosing the level 26 blessings... A call to be prayerfull - We shortly will enter The Season of the Basilisk July 3 thru July 27, 2016 Bob Jones had a number visions regarding this spirit. He has now gone on to be with the Lord. Paul Keith Davis has also written about this same spirit. I mailed out an article in July 2007 regarding the need for prayer during this season. This year 2016 is a crucial year for the true church and for Israel. We need to be aware of this spirit. We are told not to be ignorant of Satan??s devises. One of the great enemies of the cross was identified as "Basilisk" or "little king of Serpents". Basilisk is also a symbol of the devil himself whose primary purpose is death and destruction. The natural physical death resulting from this spirit evolves from plagues and other sicknesses extending all the way back to ancient Israel. The Egyptians worshiped this spirit as "the lord and king of Serpents, to awe all others, nor to be destroyed by any." They displayed a crowned Basilisk on the heads of their gods as observed in the Bembine table and other Egyptian monuments. This demonstrates Satan's attempt to elevate himself above God as an object of worship. as Cockatrice, has brought plagues at various times causing great Throughout history this spirit, sometimes translated in the scriptures The period identified as the "Basilisk" season is approaching, and we once again want to restate the importance of this time frame and the great need for consecration, repentance and prayer. In times past, I have greatly emphasized Israel and her need for prayer covering and spiritual intercession. We need to continue to do this. However we need give attention and an equal prominence for the church of God and the Nation we may live in. We need to be aware and on guard as this season approaches. In the book of Daniel we see special significance on the role of Michael and the implementation of Heavenly plans here on the earth. Our vision and concentration is placed solely upon the Lord and His Holy Spirit. Nevertheless, God has chosen men and women to release the resources of Heaven and hosts of ministering spirits to engage the adversary. We know that there are more that are for us than those that are against us and that no weapon that is arrayed against us will prosper So he answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them. Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." And the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:16-17) We are living in the End-Times and satan will do everything he can to abort the purposes of God in this hour. Israel particular is at risk during this SEASON OF THE BASILISK There has never been a greater need for prayer concerning the government of Israel, the land of the Bible and the natural seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ has not only a responsibility but also a great privilege to stand in the gap and intercede for the land of Israel during these turbulent times. The scriptures clearly reveal that there is a great blessings for those individuals and churches who stand with Israel. (Genesis 12:2-3) And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed. The Lord's love for Israel is eternal, and to share in His heart is to participate in His love for the Jewish people and the land upon which the blood of Christ was spilled. For the past several years, the Lord has spoken prophetically concerning strategic intercession against the spiritual enemies of Israel and the Church. Perpetual, daily prayer is essential in the spiritual warfare on behalf of Israel and the enemies of the Church. However, the Lord has identified a particular season in the Spirit in which considerable warfare is amplified. This has been known as the SEASON OF THE BASILISK. Over the past several years, considerable revelation has been released to disclose the workings of this evil opposition historically and currently in Israel and the Church. This unique season has produced many of the most catastrophic events in Jewish history. This historic enemy of the Cross has an extraordinary hatred not only for Israel but all of God's covenant people. We trust the following outline will assist each reader in this spiritual encounter. Plans And Strategy For Spiritual Warfare Visions of Basilisk On July 23, 1996 and again on July 23, 1997, Bob Jones was given visions from the Lord displaying this powerful demonic spirit He is desiring that we understand and oppose. It was clear in the visions that this spirit did not expect to be uncovered nor revealed. This evil spirit is accustomed to operating in secret without being detected or obstructed. This great enemy of the Cross has authority to release extensive destruction and misery in the Earth, especially if unopposed by the praying Church. This evil spirit is identified as Basilisk. Basilisk is the exemplification of the devil himself whose primary purpose is death and destruction. The natural physical death resulting from this spirit is derived from plagues, sickness and disease, natural disasters and even terrorism. Its origin can be traced all the way back to ancient Israel. The Egyptians worshiped this spirit as "the lord and king of serpents to awe all others, nor to be destroyed by any". They displayed a crowned Basilisk on the heads of their gods as observed in the Bembine table and other Egyptian monuments. This demonstrates satan's attempt to elevate himself above God as an object of worship. In the second vision given to Bob in 1997, this spirit was multiplied hundreds of times larger than the previous year. This demonstrates a progressive increase in authority presently given to this spirit. Apparently, during certain cyclical seasons, a tremendous increase in power is given to this spirit to cause death and destruction. Additionally, in 1997, this spirit was shown brooding over a nest of eggs desiring to periodically birth wrath and misery in the earth. They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper. (Isaiah 59:5) With each revelation, this prince of darkness expressed considerable surprise at being exposed as he is accustomed to operating undetected. So well hidden is this spirit that he did not even require the darkness of night to operate as most evil spirits. He can operate and even prevail in the brightness of the noonday. Though he does not require the darkness of night, like all evil spirits, he prefers to be hidden in darkness. Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. (Psalm 91:6) Basilisk in Scripture The word Basilisk is derived from basiliskos meaning "kinglet" or "king" signifying a mythical reptile hatched by a serpent from a cock's egg. In Scripture, Basilisk is sometimes translated "cockatrice" or "adder". The Hebrew word for Basilisk occurs in Psalm 91:13, Isaiah 14:29, Isaiah 11:8, Isaiah 59:5, Proverbs 23:32 and Jeremiah 8:17. Thou shalt walk upon the asp and in the Basilisk; and thou shalt trample underfoot the lion and the dragon. (Psalm 91:13) But in the end, it will bite like a snake, and will spread abroad poison like a Basilisk. (Proverbs 23:32) And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall thrust his hand into the den of the Basilisk. (Isaiah 11:8) Rejoice not thou, whole Philistia, that the rod of him that struck thee is broken in pieces; for out of the root of the serpent shall come forth a Basilisk, and his seed shall swallow the bird. (Isaiah 14:29) The burden of the beasts of the South. In a land of trouble and distress, from whence come the lioness, and the lion, the viper and the flying Basilisk, they carry their riches upon the shoulders of beasts, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels to a people that shall not be able to profit them. (Isaiah 30:6) They have broken the eggs of asps, and have woven the webs of spiders; he that shalt eat of their eggs shall die; and that which is brought out, shall be hatched into a Basilisk. (Isaiah 59:5) For, behold, I will send serpents, basilisks, among you which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the Lord. (Jeremiah 8:17) In the land of Palestine, this term is generally presumed to denote the cerastes or "horned viper", a very poisonous serpent, considered one of the most dangerous of all vipers. Clearly, the spiritual symbolism points to a prince of darkness diametrically opposed to the purposes of God in the earth. In Daniel 10 we discover the prince of Persia withstanding Gabriel prohibiting the release of divine instruction for 21 days. Basilisk, also a high-ranking prince, desires to likewise withstand the intentions of God and has been delegated the power of death. It was believed in mythology that the power of death existed in his breath or even in a glance of his eyes. In each of the visions, the Holy Spirit gave Bob Psalm 91:13 as a defense against this evil opposition. Repentance and steadfast faith in the declared Word provide a protection against this identified enemy. In so doing, our sanctified hearts would then be prepared for the release of the divine authority necessary to defeat this enemy. The Scripture declares that our foot shall be placed upon the "scorpion" and the "basilisk", not because of any strength of our own, but because of the great victory appropriated to us through Christ. The Church has been given authority to deal with this spirit, yet mankind has perished throughout history because of a lack of knowledge concerning this enemy and the appropriate application of our Savior's triumph over all opposition. In Luke 10:19, The Lord promises that He has given us authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means injure us. The Ante-Nicene Fathers records the priceless writings of the early Church leaders. One of these great Church Patriarchs was Irenaeus, an anointed messenger to the Second Century Church who died a martyr's death. His words provide valuable insight on this subject: "For this end did He put enmity between the serpent and the woman and her seed, they keeping it up mutually: He, the sole of whose foot should be bitten, having power also to tread upon the enemy's head; but the other biting, killing, and impeding the steps of man, until the seed did come appointed to tread down his head,-which was born of Mary, of whom the prophet speaks: "Thou shalt tread upon the asp and the basilisk; thou shalt trample down the lion and the dragon; " -indicating that sin, which was set up and spread out against man, and which rendered him subject to death, should be deprived of its power, along with death, which rules [over men]; and that the lion, that is, antichrist, rampant against mankind in the latter days, should be trampled down by Him; and that He should bind "the dragon, that old serpent" and subject him to the power of man, who had been conquered so that all his might should be trodden down." The great theologian and writer Tertullian spoke of Basilisk in this regard: "Who is He that shall bestow the power of treading on serpents and scorpions? Shall it be He who is the Lord of all living creatures or he who is not god over a single lizard? Happily the Creator has promised by Isaiah to give this power even to little children, of putting their hand in the cockatrice den and on the hole of the young asps without at all receiving hurt. And, indeed, we are aware (without doing violence to the literal sense of the passage, since even these noxious animals have actually been unable to do hurt where there has been faith) that under the figure of scorpions and serpents are portended evil spirits, whose very prince is described by the name of serpent, dragon, and every other most conspicuous beast in the power of the Creator. This power the Creator conferred first of all upon His Christ, even as the ninetieth Psalm says to Him: "Upon the asp and the basilisk shall Thou tread; the lion and the dragon shall Thou trample under foot.&qu ot; So also Isaiah: 'In that day the Lord God shall draw His sacred, great, and strong sword' (even His Christ) 'against that dragon, that great and tortuous serpent; and He shall slay him in that day.' But when the same prophet says, 'The way shall be called a clean and holy way; over it the unclean thing shall not pass, nor shall be there any unclean way; but the dispersed shall pass over it, and they shall not err therein; no lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon; it shall not be found there,' he points out the way of faith, by which we shall reach to God; and then to this way of faith he promises this utter crippling and subjugation of all noxious animals. This evil spirit is also described in Deuteronomy 32:24, according to the rabbinical writings. They shall be wasted with hunger, devoured by pestilence and bitter destruction; I will also send against them the teeth of beasts, with the poison of serpents of the dust. (Deuteronomy 32:24) The early rabbis taught that this passage could accurately be rendered "and I will fight against them with flaming demons". The "flaming demons" would be a reference to the spirit that the Lord desires that we understand. BASILISK IN HISTORY Throughout history, this spirit has sponsored plagues at various times causing great numbers of people to experience death. During those periods of time in history, especially the Dark Ages, man attempted various superstitions and fables in his attempt to combat this evil spirit and the death that it brought, rather than applying the blood of Christ and accepting the victory through His revealed Word. This spirit promotes religious superstition in place of faith. This resulted in Christians praying out of their superstitious imagination rather than the Holy Spirit anointed Promises of God. In his address to the Athenians, the apostle Paul described them as being "too superstitious", or "religious" as some translations rendered it. Paul presented the Truth of the gospel to replace misguided trust in fables and superstitions. The Lord desires to do the same today. During the 1997 vision of Basilisk, Bob saw this prince of darkness approaching land between two bridges utilizing the winds bringing plagues, viruses and natural disasters causing considerable misery. It was revealed in the vision and confirmed through Jewish literature that this evil spirit prevails during a certain season of the year. This season is called Bein Ha'm'tarim by the Jewish writers. This term means "between the straits" or "dire straits". This season is a three-week cycle beginning on the 17th of Tammuz extending until the 9th of Av in the Judaic calendar. It is a time when this spirit is prevalent even predominant when unchallenged by the authority of Christ given to the Church through His shed blood. This high level authority cannot be combated individually but must be engaged through corporate united intercessory prayer. At the time that the subsequent vision was revealed to Bob in 1997, hurricane Danny entered Mobile bay in Alabama, in an area that perfectly fits the description "between the bridges". According to biblical definitions, Dan means "to judge" once again pointing to the coming justice of God. Uncharacteristically, Hurricane Danny brooded over Mobile Bay for twelve hours dumping a reported 40 inches of rain combined with high winds seemingly verifying in the natural the spiritual truths of this revelation. How doth the city sit solitary that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary! She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies. Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwelleth among the heathen, she findeth no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits. (Lamentations 1:1-3) The effects of Basilisk are not exclusively demonstrated during this season, rather it is during that specific span that the authority of Basilisk operates at its peak. The Bein Ha'm'tarim season for 2002 is June 27 until July 18th. History records many of the catastrophic events that have taken place on these dates. 17TH of Tammuz ? Moses smashed the tablets of the Torah at Mt. Sinai. ? Daily sacrifices ceased. ? A Torah scroll was burned in the Temple by "Apostomos". ? An idol was erected in the Temple. ? The city wall was finally breached. 9TH AV ? 1200 B.C.?? Israel told by God in the wilderness that generation would not enter the land of promise. ? 586 B.C - The Babylonian army destroyed the Holy Temple. ? 70 A.D. - Titus and the Roman army destroyed the Holy Temple ? 135 A.D. - "Bethar" the stronghold of Bar Kochba, fell ending the last trial for Jewish Independence. ? 136 A.D. - Rome began to erect the pagan city on site of the Temple dedication. ? 1096 A.D. - The first crusades began. ? 1290 A.D. - The Jews were expelled from England. ? 1306 A.D. - The Jews were expelled from France. ? 1492 A.D. King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella signed expulsion. By July, on the 9th of AV, all Jews had to be out of Spain. ? 1648 A.D. - Chmelnicky massacred tens of thousands of Polish Jews. ? 1914 A.D. - Declarations for World War one began. ? 1942 A.D. - Plans for the annihilation of Jews were drafted escalating World War II. Historically, the twenty-one days extending from the 17th of Tammuz until the 9th of AV represented a notable time of bitterness and destruction for the Jews. According to the Rabbis, the demon that prevails during this time is also called "ketev" meaning destruction/bitterness. The Jewish Rabbis regarded "ketev" not solely as a plague, but a demon with authority to cause death and destruction through plagues. It was during this precise time that the Lord's prophecy concerning the destruction of Jerusalem was fulfilled. On the 17th of Tammuz 70 A.D. the Romans breached the walls of Jerusalem. For three weeks Roman troops ransacked and destroyed the city until the 9th of Av when they burned the Temple. In both the Babylonian and Roman captivity, the Temple was destroyed on this agonizing date. It is reported that during the Holocaust, the Nazis systematically chose the 9th of Av to carry out murderous and other demonically inspired actions against the Jewish community. The prophet Zechariah spoke of these dates in Zechariah 8:19: Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'The fast of the fourth, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth {months} will become joy, gladness, and cheerful feasts for the house of Judah; so love truth and peace.' (Zechariah 8:19) The fast of the fourth month was to be conducted on the 17th of Tammuz representing a day of mourning because of the capture of Jerusalem and the various other calamitous events that took place on this date. The fast of the fifth month was to take place on the 9th of AV because of the historical tragedies that occurred on this date. These periods of mourning and fasting were to be conducted until the promise of the coming restoration of Judah and the Messianic Kingdom. The ancient leaders recognized that the righteous must be hidden in the secret place of the Most High during this time of trouble, which they believed was a dress rehearsal for the birth pangs of Messiah. In Isaiah 26:17-21, the prophet Isaiah speaks of a season when the righteous are directed to hide themselves while wrath and indignation take its course. Zephaniah 2:3 also prophetically forecasts a season when the Godly are directed to seek the righteousness...and seek humility and perhaps be hidden in the day of the Lord's anger. According to these Rabbis, the heat of the noonday from 12:00 until 3:00 was a time of extreme activity for this evil spirit. Even a review of recent years will reveal that this season of time has produced considerable destruction through storms, droughts, floods, extreme heat and famine. If this evil prince continues to go unchecked through intercessory prayer, then great destruction will come to people. We must be brought out of darkness into light so that we would not perish because of a lack of knowledge concerning this spirit and its operations. On July 16, 1994, which is the 9th of Av on the Hebrew Calendar, the twenty-one pieces of Shoemaker-Levi comet began its bombardment on the planet Jupiter. Jupiter is commonly recognized as a symbol of idolatry and paganism. One of the most devastating events in the history of Israel occurred when the image of Jupiter was placed in the Temple of God. We continue to observe the feast of Hanukkah as a celebration of the victory of the Maccabees in removing this pagan god from the temple and re-instituting temple worship. It is clearly prophetically significant that the Shoemaker-Levi comet began its assault on the planet Jupiter on this notable date. The Heavens declare the Glory of God. It is also significant that the comet was broken into twenty-one pieces also representing the twenty-one days extending from the 17th of Tammuz until the 9th of AV, the season in which this prevailing spirit operates with its greatest authority. Even though Jupiter is a symbol of idolatry for the pagan world, it is also a term for righteousness in the Hebrew language. The Hebrew name for Jupiter is "Tzedeq" and comes from the word meaning "righteous" or "righteous one". It is from this term that the name Melchizedek is derived denoting "King of Righteousness". Clearly, we can see that Satan has perverted Jupiter into a symbol of idolatry. However, we can glean understanding from this term as a symbol of righteousness in the hope of our being cleansed by the Truth of God's Word thereby making us a suitable habitation for His Holy Spirit so we can share in His holiness. The Plans of Basilisk It is the enemy's desire to weaken our overall economy. Basilisk intends to bring such calamity to various geographic regions so as to destroy vital supplies, produce and agricultural goods, further disrupting our economy beyond the staggering cost natural disasters and terrorism already generate. The Lord has made it painfully clear, terrorism is not coming, it is here. (Note that this was written in 1999.) Much of the terrorism and disasters will be directed at densely Jewish population areas. The ripple effect of these calamities will not be limited to those residing exclusively in these states; rather, the entire nation will be adversely affected if the enemy successfully carries out his plans. These supplies are essential for meeting the needs of our population and those we support abroad. With a diminished national security and a crippled economy, we would then be vulnerable to military conflict. A weakened military force combined with severe economic hardships would make it substantially more difficult to defend and supply the needs of our nation. More importantly, our ability and willingness to stand by Israel would be compromised. The enemy desperately desires to separate this nation from Israel. If successful, the spiritual and natural implications would be significant. The Bible plainly announces that the Lord will bless those that bless Israel and curse those that curse her. One of the great attributes of this nation's leadership in times past has been the willingness to adamantly support Israel thereby releasing divine prosperity and blessing. Additionally, Israel provides America with a strong military ally in that region of the world. Without the close alliance of Israel, our military and economic opportunities in the Middle East and Europe would be severely compromised. Our enemy is attempting to prematurely set in motion events before their time. He is attempting to bring about military conflict, economic shaking, and political upheaval prematurely; especially hostile confrontation between Israel and her enemies. God's people must stand in the gap as a voice toward Heaven withstanding these evil aspirations. Defeating Basilisk Our Lord in His grace has given us this insight into the plans of the enemy for the purpose of equipping us with the blueprint for success in defeating this adversary. The more we understand his plans and purposes the more capable we will be to pray with pinpoint precision. The Lord also has His plans and purposes; plans for welfare and not for calamity toward those obediently following His divinely ordained strategy. Nothing could be more rewarding for a Christian than to find favor with God by willingly offering ourselves as instruments of righteousness, hating what He hates and loving that which He loves. This can be accomplished, at least in part, by committing ourselves faithfully to this battle both individually and corporately. Foremost in our preparation for this battle is sincere repentance for our sins and the sins of our "fathers". Repentance will always bring forth times of refreshing from the Presence of the Lord. Genuine sorrow that is not merely the articulation of our mouths but the incentives of our hearts will also pave the way for the impartation of righteousness and divine authority necessary for defeating our enemies. The Scriptures declare that our Savior came into this world to destroy the works of the devil. He has chosen His Church as the instrument through which this victory is to be manifested. Daniel 9 records the great prophet repenting for his sins and those of his people, leadership and forefathers for not having obeyed the Word of the Lord to obediently walk in His teachings. Like Israel of old, we have allowed the spirit of the world to invade our lives promoting compromise and spiritual error. We are now being given the divine opportunity to make this right individually and corporately. City and regional repentance is especially crucial in the Southeastern US , the target zone for Basilisk. Sincere repentance will touch the heart of the Father releasing the spiritual "ammunition" to defeat Basilisk. This victory will be achieved through corporate intercessory prayer. When the early believers were together praying IN ONE ACCORD, great and mighty things were accomplished for the Kingdom of Heaven. Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus; that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 15:5-6) Few things please the Father more than to see His people in unity: How good and pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, coming down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard. (Psalm 133:1-2) Though often geographically separated, we are united in purpose with one mind and defeat the enemies of our God. As one expositor put it "as the instruments of a great concert under the direction of a concert master, so the Holy Spirit blends together the lives of members of the ekklesia of Christ." Psalm 91 has been given to us as a Scripture of protection and instrument of war against this evil spirit. The Church has been given the authority over all of the power of the enemy...authority and victory in Christ must be rightly appropriated through the body. Like the sons of Issachar, we must be equipped with the knowledge of the times and seasons of the Spirit, dedicated to the Lord's plans and strategy. As many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. The Lord is calling for repentance and corporate intercession against the specific plans of the enemy here outlined. Are We "Doing" Ministry

Posted by Cheryl Weaver, Rev. on August 21, 2013 at 4:35 PM Comments comments (8)

Are we “Doing” Ministry?

My heart is burdened today by the concept of what ministry is and what it isn’t. I think we sometimes are confused on the concept of the subject matter of this broad and vast topic. Really, think about it all our Christian life we hear about ministry, “the Ministry” “being in ministry”, “doing the ministry” and I would like to share on this topic and in that some may receive a different perspective and understanding of the true form of what ministry can be about.

Ministry I am sure in it-self has many definitions and pending on the church doctrine and the denomination you are connected with there are again another set of thoughts connected to such a word. There are a couple of areas that I want to dissect right now as it is laying on my heart.

Ministry as I have shared with many is something that happens between you and the Lord. You were created to minister to your Lord and Savior first and foremost - worshiping and being in relationship is our first calling to ministry and truly our only calling (Due 6:5). It is out of that place of ministry to the Lord through worship, adoration and love between the Father and the child that God releases a wake of gifts, anointing and fruit that will simply follow you everywhere you go. As we adore the Father, He adores us and we can’t ever out give the Lord as we spend time with Him, He spends that time multiplying it back to us in love and changing us to being made into His image. Thus, then wherever we go, wherever we walk, (like Peter & Paul) even then our shadow has anointing to bring about changes in the atmosphere for Jesus (Act 5:15-16). Jesus lives in us the same power that raised Jesus from the dead! (Rom 8:11) THINK ABOUT THAT! We are because He is! We, I think downplay the Holy Spirit’s role in the Trinity, yes, He is the comforter, He is the helper, and He is the Spirit that dwells with in. But Jesus was able to do what all He endured because He was a MAN with that same SPIRIT within Him! The same Spirit that resisted the enemy in the wilderness, the same Spirit that lead Jesus to the garden of Gethsemane not for His own flesh but to overcome the flesh of His manhood and choose the will of the Father. Why, because of the SPIRIT of GOD living within Him to enable Him to walk out the will of the Father on the earth. This is the same SPIRIT that lives in us to accomplish ALL that He requests and even greater as we align our belief with His! (JOHN 14:12)

Do you understand that GOD HIMSELF LIVES IN YOU (Rom 8:9,11)…. Not a junior token gift, but the GOD of the Universe who created the HEAVENS and THE EARTH with His WORDS… He gave YOU and ME the same spirit to SPEAK LIFE into existence, taking dominion here on earth as His Voice, Hands and Feet! (Gen 1:26-28 )

Ministry is the incredible revelation of this mystery of the Gospel on a daily basis as we worship and adore this awe-powerful being who loves us so much that He placed himself in these limited bodies to prove HIS limitless existence!!! YOU ARE HIS VISUAL AID ON THE EARTH. (Eph 6:19-20)

Ministry in itself is lifeless and limited by the very title, if it is relegated to anything outside of our personal relationship with our love King Jesus. Let us not create a form or a structure and call that ministry… PLEASE!… Ministry is not something we DO!… it is a by-product of the NATURE of Christ being formed into our soul… the pressure of His limitless love being squeezed into our limited beings and releasing abilities way beyond our fleshly carnal nature and enabling us to be here on the earth “Little Christ’s” loving beyond our ability, which then sets others free not by “doing, but by BEING in Him”! (Gal 4:19) God is L O V E, Love covers, God is in you, and we are in Love with Him. (1 John 4:8b) There is a circle of Life that is released as we walk in the depth and breadth and width and the height of that love. (Rom 8:39) You can’t help but love others and in the process of that amazing pressure overwhelming you it is changing your nature minute- by-minute as you embrace it, it is a catalyst that is synergistically transforming all living things everywhere around you. That transformation is the process and nature of ministry… complete from beginning to the end all by the Lord’s pursuing love and nature being made within the very soul of man and woman. The Gospel is a daily transforming Truth if you aren’t being transformed you don’t have the true Gospel.

We are the richest example of ministry as LIFE all around us is being transformed by the SPIRIT of love and selflessness in us. That nature in us is being radically loosed on the people around us by the Spirit. This is ministry. Ministry is organic. Ministry is a verb not a noun and it is a journey not a destination. It is not a location in a building or an act that we perform for GOD. It’s a dance of love weaving back and forth with the Father understanding His heart in ours and our heart in His. This dance of reflecting His nature on the earth; radically reflecting him causes the world and all around it to enter into a dance themselves and that response becomes an organic movement. Then the Father engages His other children because of the Love you are loosing back towards the Father and then it’s released over those in your path. It is a magnificent limitless powerful GOD living in the very finiteness of our human condition and bringing Glory to himself. MIRACULOUS!

Ministry isn’t something we move towards, ministry isn’t something we plan for, and ministry is something we try and do, become, or fix. Ministry isn’t a program or a strategy, it is a BY-PRODUCT of an everlasting deep love affair with a Savior who paid for everything you have ever done, you’ll ever need and all that is in your future. Ministry isn’t something that can be defined… How can you define GOD? Attempting to create something and call it a ministry is in its very nature already contrary to the very nature of Jesus and what he came to reveal on the earth. The box of Ministry of the day and time of Jesus was modeled in the Pharisees creating rules and regulations, stipulations “FOR GOD”. This is much the same example or format of Ministry we still see today in many places. We can have the best intentions, take Saul, his passion was unmerited for God and yet the blinding of self-righteousness “doing something for God” perverted the very nature and essence of who God is, love; He came to seek and save the Lost, loving one another. We like Saul can be blinded by our desire to “DO” for God out of our lack of “Being IN” God, and then the natural progression of “Doing” for God are acts of performance. Then that meets our own gratifications and is completely devoid of the character of God himself, which is rooted in selflessness. Thus, we move into “a form of religion and denying His power.”(2 Tit 2:3-5) Yet our words and actions seem all so good on the outside and we are often blinded to the true motive of self-fulfillment. God is selfless. This is the hardest thing on earth to grasp… the nature of God in us to be completely selfless and full of Love. It is the purpose of our Heavenly Father to create us as vessels that are utterly helpless to completing such a task without the total and utter dependence on HIM moment by moment, day-by-day. He longs for our relationship! Jesus was one with the Father provoked to doing what HE heard the Father saying by love and obedience to the Will of Him who sent Him.

Is there anything called ministry that we can offer or do… yes of course, but I say no, not really. Is there good works that we all can perform oh yes, does it benefit others yes, Faith without deeds is dead. How much more full could it be, if we were moving and living and having our being in Jesus moving from the same heart intent that Jesus moved in towards the Father? (Acts 17:28)  My exhortation to us today is that we are not called to FIX anything. God is the author and finisher of our faith and He will complete what He has begun in us. (Heb 12:2, 1 TH 5:24) We tend to fall into the codependent quantitative statuses of the world’s standards of, “there’s a problem, I will create a program to fix that problem”. In “ministries” it often looks like you have a personal problem and I will help you fix it or there is a problem in this area lets create a program to fill it. Jesus went from village to village creating relationships connecting people by His loving obedience to the Father’s love. (Mat 9:9, John 4)

Helping denotes debt that one is providing something that you owe back. It creates an environment of superiority and comes often from wrong motives. However serving someone is more like healing, it’s mutual, done with the motive to give to the Lord and is a gift to him with a benefit to someone else. There is distance between ourselves and whatever or whomever we are fixing. Fixing is a form of judgment. All judgment creates distance, a disconnection, and an experience of difference equaling inequality.* We tend to want to HELP God and HELP His people by FIXING them. This mentality comes out of a heart that wants to be loved back and is insecure in their own relationship with the Father and others therefore releasing codependency into the Body (not trusting that He will do what His Word says the same sin as Eve and Adam), thus we help God out by creating a program to do His job or we carnally or logically reason out a solution, shortchanging ourselves and others around us the miraculous rescue of heaven invading earth. We give out of a blinded desire to really receive love and having our own needs met. When our identity is truly in the Lord and we understand the LOVE He has for us, there is no need that man can satisfy or give you any longer and you cross over from a place of “helping God and His people in doing Ministry” to receiving the FULLNESS of God and walking daily in that fullness. His nature in you in this place begins to transforms everything around you. You become the revival in your sphere of influence intoxicated with Heaven on Earth loosing the breath and love of God.

We have nothing to offer the Most Powerful Creator of all time. We can simply give back to him our life, worship and adoration. He is not interested in our fleshly performances that gratify our soul… He is however madly in love and highly respects our surrendering of what we know to His ability to loose His power, nature and fruits in us to show off His Glory and handiwork on the earth, thus as we share the testimony of all He is in us it breeds change in others, it’s contagious intention love. So let us be authentically recused from our human condition of ministry programs, platforms and platitudes and become laid down lovers of Jesus transforming a culture out of pure obedience to following after our Savior wherever He leads.

Blessings of Great Joy,

What is all the "HO" about?

What is all the "HO" About ?

The question comes up from time-to-time what is the “HO” all about? Since the retreat was filled with many “Ho”’s over the weekend, I thought I would share…

Many years ago, I found a man who ministered on this subject of “Ho” in the Spirit and I was amazed because I “Ho” in the Spirit! So this is some of the things that he shared in that meeting and I researched out since then.

In essence, it’s God’s exclamation point on a conversation, thought process, or release to event, object or item that HE is excited about and wants everyone to know it! When the Power of Heaven Hit the flesh of man sometimes we respond!

It says at any given time: which, who, the things, the Son, which is, that is, that is to say, which make, which is and which was and which is to come, this, that, and these, HEY EVERYONE COME!!!

If you have anything else to add send it to me!

My heart skipped a beat as I was watching the news one evening in late February of this year (89). A large section in the side of an airplane had torn loose and 10 or 11 people had been sucked out. A thought raced through my mind... my song leader and his wife were headed for Hawaii and that's where this plane was going. Then I realized they were not leaving for several weeks yet.

Now just suppose you went to the ticket counter to book a flight. You buy the ticket and the attendant hands it to you with these words. "You should know, sir, that on this plane, seating one hundred passengers, ten seats, sometime during the flight, will suddenly give way and drop their occupants out of the plane." You reply, "Don't put me in one of those seats." The attendant replies, "But that is impossible; we don't know the seats that will give way. Have a good flight, sir."

You'd say, "Forget it!" No way am I going to ride on that plane! I'm not going to take the chance."

I adapted the ticket illustration from an article that appeared in the April 24, 1965 issue of Christianity Today. The article, on page 25, continues, "People must be informed that the use of alcohol is not unlike Russian roulette: every tenth person becomes automatically hooked.  The only solution is total abstinence."

Alcohol spells TROUBLE for us all. It is the most dangerous drug in general use today. In this study we are going to take a look at what the Bible has to say about alcohol use.

There are 637 references to drink and drinking in the     KJV of the Bible. In those references thirteen different     words are translated "wine." To understand what the     Bible has to say about drinking, we need to look at     some of these words.

"yayin" (3196) [pronounced yah-yin] -- This word occurs     140 times. It is a general term for grape beverages and     includes all classes of wine, non-alcoholic or     alcoholic; unfermented, in the process of fermentation     and fermented. It was always diluted with water.

"shekar" (7941) [shay-kawr] -- This Hebrew word occurs     23 times. It is the word for strong drink, unmixed wine.     The 1901 edition of THE JEWISH ENCYCLOPEDIA says "Yayin,     wine, is to be distinguished from shekar, or strong     drink. The former is diluted with water; the later is     undiluted."

"tirosh" (8492) [tee-roshe'] -- This word is used about     38 times. It refers to fresh grape juice. It is referred     to often as new wine or sweet wine.

There are some New Testament counterparts to these     words.

"oinos" (3631) [oy'-nos] is the counterpart of the Old     Testament word yayin.  It is used 33 times.  It is a     general term for grape beverages and includes all     classes of wine, non-alcoholic or alcoholic -     unfermented, in the process of fermentation and     fermented. It was always diluted with water. Often the     context has to be used to determine whether the drink     was intoxicating or not.

"sikera" (4608) [sik'-er-ah] is the counterpart to the     Old Testament word shekar. It is the word for strong     drink, unmixed wine.

"gleukos" (1098) [glue-kos] is the counterpart to the     Old Testament word tirosh. "It refers to a fresh wine, a     new wine" Dr. Paul Dixon says.

Isa. 5:11 - "Woe unto them that rise up early in the     morning, that they may follow strong drink (7941); that     continue until night, till wine (3196) inflame them."

Prov. 23:20 - "Be not among winebibbers (5433);           The word means to drink so much that you become           tipsy or drunk.

Rom. 13:13 - "Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not     in rioting (2970 - drunken partying) and drunkenness     (3178 - general drunkenness)..."

Gal. 5:19a & 21 "Now the works of the flesh are     manifest, which are these...drunkenness (3178)..."

Eph. 5:18 - "And be not drunk (3182 form of 3178) with     wine (3631) wherein is excess; but be filled with the     Spirit.

    I Cor. 6:9-11 (key 10)

You can't get around it and in fact all godly men agree that the Bible condemns drunkenness. Drunkenness is a serious matter.

Prov. 20:1 "Wine (3196) is a mocker (3887 - causes one     to act crazy), strong drink (7941) is raging (1993 -     causes one to rage): and whosoever is deceived thereby     is not wise."

NOTE again, Isa. 5:11 - "Woe unto them that rise up     early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink     (7941); that continue until night, till wine (3196)     inflame them."

Prov. 23:29-31 -- "Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who     hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds     without a cause? who hath redness of eyes? (30) They     that tarry long at the wine (3196); they that go to seek     mixed wine (4469 - a mixture of wine and spices). (31)     Look not thou upon the wine (3196) when it is red, when     it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself     aright."-- Reference is to drinking fermented wine &     strong drink. The strong drink was the "mixed wine"     which was a potent mixture of wine and spices.

Distillation was not discovered until about 1500 A.D.     Strong drink and unmixed wine in Bible times was from 3%     to 11% alcohol. Dr. John MacArthur says "...since     anybody in biblical times who drank unmixed wine (9-11%     alcohol) was definitely considered a barbarian, then we     don't even need to discuss whether a Christian should     drink hard liquor -- that is apparent!

Since wine has 9 to 11% alcohol and one brand 20%     alcohol, you should not drink that. Brandy contains 15-     20% alcohol, so that's out!  Hard liquor has 40 to 50%     alcohol (80 to 100 proof), and that is obviously     excluded!

Someone will say, "since beer is only 4% alcohol, IT'S     OK FOR A BELIEVER TO DRINK BEER, RIGHT?" The answer is     NO! Here's why...

Remember the Hebrew word "yayin" and the Greek word     "oinos" that we looked at earlier? These were the     companion words for wine whether fermented for     unfermented.  Remember, the key emphasis was on the fact     that whether fermented or not, it was MIXED WITH WATER.

Let's look at what John MacArthur has to say about     this... (see article titled - How do the alcoholic     drinks of today compare to those of biblical times)

Norman Geisler, Dean of the Liberty Center for           Christian Scholarship, Liberty University, has           written: "Many wine-drinking Christians today           mistakenly assume that what the New Testament meant           by wine is identical to wine used today.  This,           however, is false. In fact, today's wine is by           Biblical definition strong drink, and hence is           forbidden by the Bible. What the Bible frequently           meant by wine was basically purified water.           Therefore, Christians ought not to drink wine, beer           or other alcoholic beverages for they are actually           strong drink and forbidden in Scripture.  Even           ancient pagans did not drink what some Christians           drink today."

All alcoholic beverages used in our culture fall under     the biblical classification of STRONG DRINK and     therefore forbidden. The least ratio of water to wine     mixture in the was 3 parts water to 1 wine. That     produced a sub-alcoholic drink that was 2.5% to 2.75%     alcohol.  Normally, the ratio was even higher, up to 20     to 1.  Their is NO BIBLICAL SUPPORT FOR CHRISTIANS     DRINKING THE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OF OUR DAY! What     believers drank was sub-alcoholic by todays standards.     Pastor's and deacons were cautioned to steer around even     the sub-alcoholic stuff (I Tim.  3:3 & 8).

The right choice is to abstain! What is your choice?

Does the Bible give any instances were alcohol can be     used? Let's move in to our next study and see.

SAY NO TO ALCOHOL                   by Pastor David L. Brown

    A.  Someone who is near death and in great pain.     B.  Someone who is experiencing great anguish was given           alcohol as a sedative.

Richard Quebedeaux, neo-evangelical author wrote in his book The Worldly Evangelicals, "In the course of establishing their respectability in the eyes of the wider society, the evangelicals have become harder and harder to distinguish from other people. Upward mobility has made the old revivalistic taboos dysfunctional." He goes on to say that evangelical business people have "changed their minds" about such things as drinking and smoking and found it necessary and pleasant to do those things.

That's a sad commentary on the state of Bible believing Christians in light of the fact that we are neither to be conformed to the world (Rom. 12:2) nor love the world(I John I John 2:15). We ARE to be SEPARATE FROM world (2 Cor. 6:17) and LIGHT TO the world (Eph. 5:8; Phil. 2:15).

Perhaps social drinking has enhanced the acceptability of Christians in society but it has not advanced the cause of Christ and it does not glorify God! Social drinking is simply a means which the devil uses to blunt our testimony for Christ and squeeze us into his mold. There are at least SIX GOOD REASONS A BELIEVER SHOULD NOT DRINK. We will take a close look at each of those reasons as soon as we answer the question -- Does the Bible say there are any legitimate reasons to drink alcoholic beverages in the Bible?

"Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and     to those that be of heavy hearts. Let him drink, and     forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more."     Prov. 31:6-7

This verse lists two categories where strong drink could     be used...

"Give strong drink unto him that is ready to           perish..."

The phrase "ready to perish" is but one Hebrew word           that is generally used of a person who is near           death. In reality alcohol was used as a anesthetic           to ease the pain.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is an illustration of the           medicinal use of wine in this way. In Matthew           27:33-34 we see Christ was offered vinegar mixed           with gall to drink just prior to his crucifixion.           The word vinegar is the Greek word for "sour or           bitter wine." It was mixed with gall to become a           powerful medicine that would take the edge off           pain. After just a taste, Christ refused it.           Again, we see "sour wine" being used as a pain           killer in John 19:28-30. Just before Christ dies,           he requests a drink. Even this request was to           fulfill prophecy. They give him a sponge soaked in           "sour wine."

The believer does not need to drink alcohol as a pain     reliever today. We have much more sophisticated and     power pain killers available.

There is a second category where it was allowable to use     strong drink in the Bible.

"Give strong drink to those that be of heavy           hearts..."

Emotionally speaking, the term "heavy heart"(4751)           is used to describe a heart crushing experience.           Strong drink was used in these cases as a sedative           to calm the person. Today, we have much more           effective sedatives.

Prov.31:7 describes the results that are hoped for.           First, that they forget their "poverty" (7389),           that is their desperate circumstance. Second that           they forget their "misery" (5999) or pain.

1 out of every ten drinkers becomes an alcoholic           according to American Medical Association.  Rather           than play Russian roulette with the bottle, it is           better not to drink at all.

The Bible is clearly against drunkenness. It says           "Let us walk honestly...not in...drunkenness"           Romans 13:13

It says, "And be not drunk with wine..." Ephesians           5:18. That means wine or any other alcoholic           beverage.

An individual who is habitually drunk will not be           in Heaven according to I Corinthians 6:9-10. We see           from verse 11 that drunkenness, along with the           other sins is spoken of as being in the past..."and           such WERE some of you."           There is another reason believers should not           drink...

Prov. 20:1 says "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is           a raging and whosoever is deceived thereby is not           wise."

Wine and strong drink are used as synonymous in           this verse. Anyone who drinks them are deceived.

Prov. 23:31 says "Look not upon the wine when it is           red, when it giveth colour in the cup, when it           moveth itself aright."

The reference is to fermented wine or alcoholic           wine (remember, in the Bible, the word wine covered           anything from freshly squeezed grape juice to           alcoholic wine).  The phrase "look not" means don't           give any thought to or refuse to pay any attention           to. The focus it alcoholic wine. So you come out           with the idea -- DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT DRINKING           ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. DON'T EVEN CONSIDER DRINKING!

All the alcoholic beverages that are produced today           would fall into the category of strong drink and           are subject to the Biblical injunction against           strong drink.

Another reason believers should not drink...

Romans 14:21 says " It is good neither to eat           flesh, nor to drink wine, nor anything whereby thy           brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made           weak."

Innumerable Christians claim their "Christian           Liberty" when it comes to social drinking. In order           to do that they must turn their backs on this           passage of scripture. "Sipping Saints" have given           multitudes of people an excuse to drink. More than           once I have heard a believer say "there is nothing           wrong with drinking in moderation. Pastor so and so           even says it is OK." I had one of my members say           something like that to be in justification of his           drinking. I discovered his drinking problem one           Saturday when a frantic teenager called me saying           one of the church members was pounding on the           church door and carrying on like a mad man. It           scared her witless. As it turned out "sipping           saints" had given this man a justification to           drink. He had both stumbled and was made weak.

The problem is, drinking often sets off a chain of           influences like tipping over the first domino.  He           had a wife and kids at home and his actions set off           a chain of events that caused some to stumble,           others to be offended and some were weakened, using           dads rationalization to do the same.

According to a survey done by the Daily Journal           newspaper, October 26 of 1988 one of the top five           reasons teenagers drink is because their parents           drink. This has proven true time and time again.

Let me take it one step further. Parents, you must           remember that whatever you do in moderation your           children will likely do in excess.

The Bible clearly defines drinking as an activity           that is to be foregone because it causes others to           stumble and makes them weak (fall into sin).

There is yet another reason that believers should           not drink...

I Cor. 6:19-20 "What? know ye not that your body is           the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which           ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are           bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your           body, and in your spirit which are God's."

I Cor. 3:16-17 "Know ye not that ye are the temple           of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?           If any man defile the temple, him shall God           destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which           temple ye are."

How many of you had high school or college biology?           I did and it was great. I especially enjoyed the           fit the girls had when we had to dissect first the           large grass hoppers and then the frogs. But what           was really rank was the day we had to walk up to           the big barrel fill with formaldehyde and reach in           and get a cat. That day some of the babes lost it           and I think even one of  the guys. I will never           forget the aroma of the formaldehyde.

That brings me to what Dr. Robert Haas has to say.           He is the president of the American College of           Sports Nutrition. He said, " Beer, wine and hard           liquor form toxic substances called aldehydes that           can destroy the liver, kidney, and brain cells.           (Most of us who took high school biology probably           dissected a frog that was preserved in           formaldehyde). Aldehydes serve a useful function in           preserving or "pickling" dead animal tissue, but           they serve no beneficial purpose in people.           "Alcohol dehydrates (robs) your body of its           precious water supply, and along with the water go           vital nutrients such as B Vitamins, calcium,           magnesium, and potassium."

According to the September 81 issue of Good           Housekeeping "Even in moderate amounts alcohol has           noticeable effects on the body. Because it enters           the blood stream it touches almost every organ, and           its effects on feelings and behavior are well           known."

Alcohol has adverse affects on your esophagus,           stomach & intestines, bloodstream, pancreas, liver,           heart, bladder, kidneys, glands and your brain.           (See appendix for a more complete listing).

"The most drastic and noticed effect of alcohol is           on the brain. It depresses brain centers,           progressively produces uncoordination, confusion,           disorientation, stupor, anesthesia, coma, death.           Alcohol kills brain cells and brain damage is           permanent." (From - Office of Highway Safety,           Madison, Wi)

As believers our body belongs to the Lord. We           should not knowingly do anything that would harm           it. Alcohol harms the body, therefore we should not           drink alcohol.

There is a further reason you should not drink...

I Cor. 6:12 tells us that we are not to "be brought           under the power" or to be controlled by anything.           The only exception is the Holy Spirit (Eph 5:18).

Alcohol is clearly a powerful addictive substance           (Prov. 23:35). In the appendix you will find a           chart showing the stages of addiction as well as a           questionaire that can help a person determine where           he/she is at in the addiction process if they are a           drinker. Because alcohol is addictive, we should           choose not to drink alcoholic beverages.

The final reason we will consider for not drinking           alcoholic beverages is...

"The prophets, the kings, the Nazarites, the           leaders -- those who were special in the plan of           God were total abstainers" says Dr. Paul Dixon and           he's correct.

Kings and public officials were not to drink-Prov.           31:4-5

Dr. Paul Dixon says "the priests of the Old           Testament were to abstain totally." The Aaronic           priests were not to drink because they ministered           in the tabernacle before the Lord (Lev.  10:9).

The application: Believers are a "royal" or kingly           priesthood (I Pet. 2:9). We are the temple of God           (I Pet. 2:5). We are God's special children and           should choose total abstinence.

Drinking, even social drinking, cannot be legitimately supported by the Bible. Every drink that is available today, even Beer, falls into the category of unmixed or strong drink. Drinking unmixed or strong drink is forbidden in the Bible, except in two instances. First, it was given to someone who was near death to relieve pain. Second, it was dispensed as a sedative to those experiencing great anguish. The fact is, there are SIX GOOD REASONS THE BELIEVER SHOULD NOT DRINK... 1) DRINKING LEADS TO DRUNKENNESS  2) THE BIBLE CONDEMNS THE DRINKING OF STRONG DRINK 3) DRINKING CAUSES OTHERS TO STUMBLE  4) DRINKING HARMS OUR BODIES WHICH ARE THE LORD'S  5) BELIEVERS ARE KINGS & PRIESTS, SEPARATED UNTO GOD 6) ALCOHOL IS ADDICTIVE

What should you do if you find that you are hooked on alcohol?

Before anyone has even the chance of being helped, they     must realize that there is a problem. The Bible is clear     that drunkenness is a sin.  You must be willing to admit     that you have sinned and come short of God's standard.

There is no problem too big for God. Jeremiah the     prophet prays "Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the     heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched     out arm, and there is nothing too hard for     thee:"(Jeremiah 32:17). The Lord confirms the prophets     estimation of Himself in verses 26, 27 of the same     chapter as we read, "Then came the word of the LORD unto     Jeremiah, saying, Behold I am the LORD, the God of all     flesh: is there anything to hard for me?"  This     rhetorical question implies a NO! There is nothing to     hard for the Lord to accomplish.  God WILL help those to     go to him and determine to follow his instructions.

The Simple Plan Of Salvation --(Read the following     verses in the Bible)

    1. John 3:16 -- God Loves You     2. Romans 3:23 -- You are a sinner     3. Romans 6:23; Revelation 21:8 -- You need salvation         from your sins because unless you are saved you will         die and are destined to the Lake Of Fire (Hell)     4. Ephesians 2:8-9 -- Your good works cannot Save you,         salvation is a gift that must be personally received.     5. I John 2:2-Christ paid for our sins 6. John 14:6 --He         is the only way to Heaven     6. Luke 13:3 -- Repent of your sins & ask the Lord's         forgiveness for your sins.     7. Romans 10:13 -- Call upon Christ in prayer and         ask Jesus to come into your life and save your soul.

SALVATION is the first decision you must make, but there     is a SECOND decision you must make also. It is revealed     in Romans 12:1-2 which says, "I beseech (urge) you     therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you     present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, and     acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.     And be not conformed to this world: but be ye     transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may     prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect will     of God."

In this decision, you tell the Christ, "I am yours. I     give you my mind, will and body. I am in your hands.     Please give me the desire for victory and the power over     alcohol."

Note your weaknesses, your character flaws, your sins,     your shortcomings, your wrongs. Don't play games. Don't     deceive yourself. See yourself for what you really are.     Then, move on to the next step...

I John 1:9 says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful     and just to forgives us our sins, and to cleanse us from     all unrighteousness."

James 5:16 says "Confess your faults one to another, and     pray one for another, that ye may be healed..."

VI.  TELL THE LORD YOU ARE READY TO HAVE HIM CORRECT & REMOVE     YOUR CHARACTER DEFECTS     Psalm 139:23-24 says "Search me, O God, and know my     heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be     any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way     everlasting."

Luke 19:8 "And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the     Lord...if I have taken anything form any man by false     accusation, I restore him fourfold."

The principle of restitution is seen in both the Old and     New Testament. By way of application, sometimes a simple     apology is sufficient. On other occasions a monitary     settlement is in order. Each situation is dfferent.

Approach God humbly in your prayers. Be specific in your     sharing and asking. Thank the Lord for His blessings and     help.

Memorizing and meditating on scripture passages acts     like cleanser and medicine on our minds. Memorize Psalm     1, 23, 34, 51; Romans 6, 7, 8; Philippians 4 etc.

This fine book is published by Moody Press. It is broken     into three sections -- 1) UNDERSTANDING ALCOHOLISM  2)     WAYS TO HELP THE ALCOHOLIC  3) WAYS THE ALCOHOLIC CAN     HELP HIMSELF

NOTE: Many of the above suggestions were adapted from material used in ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS but modified to be thoroughly biblical.
